Farm raised foods how much do we know on this new industry. As you shop for fish and other shell fish you see that they are farm raised and most from Asia. The bad news is the farms feed the fish corn pellets and some even are in ponds that are polluted. These environments transfer the bad or contaminated fields into the fish or shell fish. Look on the labels in your frozen section as well as your fish dept. They may be distributed by a company here in America but the farm location is usually Vietnam, Indonesia, China or other Asia countries.
Last trip to the fish market had both wild caught and farm raised salmon. The price difference was two dollars a pound. Not knowing the conditions of the farm in Vietnam I bought the wild caught. I tend to do so all the time as the fish is caught in it's own natural environment and grow in the better conditions.
